Fashion and Me
I love dressing up. Although I’m not really crazy about shopping. I love everything that is vintage: details, cuts, fabrics, a whole know-how that no longer exists. My belts for example are all old because I pay attention to the leather and its patina. Quality is what matters to me. I keep my clothes for a long time. I am attached to them.
"Good taste" is not a subject at home. Someone who has a style is someone who has a personality. And it has nothing to do with a "good" or a "bad" taste.
Brands
I hate the social marker of recognizable and displayed brands. The fact of having lived in Bali has really transformed me because it was a life where the brand and the appearance were not valued. The style was elsewhere. Fashion was all about forms, cuts and fabrics.
We lived very far from magazines and their trends or some form of marketing pressure.
My style
I am not sophisticated but I dare things: old exuberant furs, dresses of my great grandmother...
I follow the trends but I reinterpret them into my own way with my elements and clothes that I have for years in my closet.
I like structured and belted things and to mix fabrics (wool loops, cashmere, silks ...).
I love dressing up in the evening: I wear heels, and I am very often the most dressed. But I feel totally fine with it! I do not care about what others think. I'm not afraid of the error.
Jewelry
I wear neither brand jewels nor fashionable fantasies. I do not want to see where it comes from. I wear my earrings that I make. Or large bracelets.
My outfit
Camel boots, slim jeans, a cashmere sweater or a denim shirt and a fur jacket. I would not buy fur from today. But vintage is not a problem to me.
Accessories
My bags are all vintage. And I have a weakness for the small handbags that I collect for years now. I have them either from the women of my family or my life in Asia.
I always adapt my bags to my outfit. I have big leather bags to work with and to put my files, computer, samples. Apart from that I do not need much: my lip stick, my phone, my keys – so most of the time I use only small bags.
A fashion taboo
