Time to wake up

7:15 a.m. and I look on my phone… unfortunately! And we have breakfast all four in bed: it’s our ritual.

 

How did you get the idea to launch your business?

I wanted to be independent, to create something on my own. I needed to prove myself things and I also wanted to be able to manage my life when my son was born.

Since the beginning, I take a week of holidays every time they’re on vacation too. And I spend every Wednesday with them.

 

This second professional life – everybody dreams of but only few of us decide to change anything: how did you do it?

Max was my Click! In my former work in the medical sector I had to travel a lot. When my son was born I understood that I would not leave my child in the crèche.

So I decided to launch Les Trouvailles d’Elsa at home. With my husband’s support. If he hadn’t encourage me the way he did, I am not sure if I would ever start it.

Since always, fashion is my big fashion, so I decided to make this hobby become a job and to share my firm-favorites with others. At the time, almost 10 years ago, there weren’t many accessories websites.

 

At the office

It’s been only two years I decided to have a real office. I had a lot of fun working from home, but there was a moment I felt too exhausted there.

Thanks to a friend we found this beautiful apartment in the 1st neighborhood, in this historical and charming building from XVIth century. It’s white and bright – I feel really comfortable there.

 

A typical day

When it’s not the time of purchases and saloons, I do a lot of pictures, I compose my looks of the week for the website and social medias, I write at my blog.

Each day is completely different !

 

How do you find your brands?

On the Internet and during saloons. Or thanks to traveling, which was the case of an Australian brand called Spell and the Gipsy Collective.

I prefer designers brands for their fabrics, quality and originality.

I stay very loyal. I started with Aime et Stéphanie Jewells, two brands that I am very attached to. I also love Pasacale MonvoisinMarie Laure Chamorel, I work a lot with them. Or Richard de Latour, a Fine Arts professor and a real creator! Relations with them are very important to me.

Short term : a mobile detox !

Long term : To develop the Elsa Madjar brand and make a great story out of it.

 

The worst moments

When I launched my business and the day before the official opening I lost my computer within all the pictures !

My first sales abroad. My clients are also Australian, Korean and Japanese and stay very loyal to my website !

Advices for those who want to start a business

To trust oneself which does not necessarily mean that it’s going to be a success but it’s important to believe in oneself to be ready for any situation. And not to be afraid to work, a lot !

To  know oneself and to make things at one’s own rhythm. A little bit of pressure, why not, but not too much.

 

Next challenge

My brand – Elsa Madjar – that I have just launched.

I was looking for some jewelry that I couldn’t find anywhere else. So I decided to draw them!

They are made in India and in France, with silver, yellow gold or pink goled, with white or black diamonds. There are twenty different jewels.

These jewels are very sober and have ‘graphic’ lines what makes them very easy to wear.

We can wear them every day, they are made to last – I was very attentive to their quality and the way they are made.

I hope that’s a beginning of a long and beautiful story.
