INTERIOR

WHAT PLEASE ME HERE

The spaces in this flat are incredible. The smallest room is about 25 square meters. Moreover, it is well exposed: light floods thanks to the several windows and the south exposition of the living room.

I had a special crush on this room. It can contains: a dining room, a living room, a bookcase and an office.

WITH A MAGIC WAND…

…I’d love to have a bigger kitchen. To me it’s the heart of a house : kids make their homework’s there, friends come for a coffee and a talk and that’s where everything takes place during a party !

That’s also because I love to cook: pasta, risotto with a glass of white wine and friends… It appeals to me that real life pleasures are here.

I like hosting people, I need the house to be full.

My friends and the ones of my children come every evening. People always come unexpectedly because they know they always are welcomed.

Friendship and meetings made me. They bring me where I am.

ROOMS WHERE I SPEND THE MOST OF MY TIME

The girls’ rooms, the living room to read a book on a chaise longue, my bedroom and my kitchen. In short it is a flat where I truly live.  

DECORATION A LONGSTANDING PASSION

I love decoration and design since a long time. Doubtless thanks to my grandmother who has an amazing and wild taste.

My close relations were used to ask me for some help, or to find a piece. My husband suggests me to start to bill!

I truly started with my New York neighbour, who has a huge house that I decorated.

MY STYLE

It is « true », « alive » and particularly free. I don’t appreciate being in a box. Anyway I am unclassifiable…

It is made with mix and crush. There is nothing I don’t really adore at my place. We can find books, art and things brought back from my trips there. If I had to choose a word it would be « Arty ».

I am looking for the “accident”, perfect things are annoying.

I can switch from one age to another, mix different styles without difficulties. But the common point in all my works is and remains the colour.

Whatever the age or the style, I need shades.

MY INFLUENCES

Artists: a painting, its colours. I am a museum addict. When I travel I need to see a maximum of exhibitions. A movie can also give me ideas.

Actually everything is inspiration, it’s a game, a state of mind, a state of awareness.

THTF, a street-artist of Galerie Slika.

Anne de Villeméjane, and its bronze.

I am a huge fan Cocteau and I have some drawing of Jean Marais.

I would love to have a Picasso even a daubing : he is the absolute artist to me!

WHAT SIGN AN INTERIOR

It’s mood, it doesn’t matter if I like the details, the ages or the materials. I mostly like when you feel well in a space, when you want to stay in.

There are no bad tastes. Everyone has their own.

IN MY BOOKCASE

Arts books, novels : I’d love to have a dedicated room for it. Reading is one of my passions.

The last book I read was « Addict » of Marie de Noailles. It touched me. I found it humble, written with honesty.

ON MY BEDSIDE TABLE

A Vallauris Trinket bawl ( for my big rings). Books, my children’s complaints... and my phone. I read the news before sleeping. I am a newsaholic, and a Pinterest junkie too.  

A DREAMT PURCHASE

My dream is to build a real collection. For our 10 years of marriage anniversary I did’nt wanted a ring but a work of art : Anne de Villeméjane, "le Baiser" a sculture. I dream of having others.

OUR WEEK-ENDS

We often spend them in our countryside house: the house of happiness, “l’auberge espagnole”, constantly full of friends and children.  

When we stay in Lyon it’s slower: there are the puces du canal, the halles de Bocuse or the marché du quai Saint-Antoine where everyone meets to share an oyster plate. We have few dinners with friends but I am often caught by my job at the Gallery. That’s why my children and my husband prefer when we go to countryside.

A FAVORITE ITEM

I love beautiful things but I don’t need one especially expect my family portrait.

I leave New York without any regrets about the furniture or the items I left there. The problem was more about leaving my friends.  

A DECO ADVICE

Never buy a counterfeit! Everything can be interesting whatever the price. I hate snobbery, in design and all other things.
