My apartment

After selling our house at avenue Marceau, I have visited many flats before having a firm favorite for this one. I love its disposal, its light and beautiful vis-à-vis.

And also its little “Art nouveau” style with its doors, mirrors and stained glass windows – I fell immediately in love with them.

I really appreciate the neighborhood that many people consider as a dead area which is absolutely not with a rue St Dominique and Cler nearby. I really enjoy it since I love everything linked to eating!

My style

In the matter of decoration, we take decisions together. I’m much less traditional than my husband and sometimes I need to push him a little bit. I dare more colors for example like for our curtains.

In a fashion area I often want to change things, but it’s not the same with decoration: I need constants: gold, patterns, bright colors details.

I like to mix things: different styles, precious elements with small details that I can change more regularly.

My decoration firm favourite

I really love huge furnitures like our sofa Cassina, our long coffee table or the Knoll XXL table (!)

I also hate having different chairs around the table: impossible for me.

We mainly live in the living room. But I love my room. I work there, we take our breakfast there and I can even have a dinner there when my husband’s not there!

I love lights. Especially sconces, gallows. For example those of Sarah Poniatowski.

Our weekend

We spend a lot of time at home with children. We make pancakes, watching old Louis de Funès movies, we spend some time all together without any detailed program.

Friday evenings we go for a diner only the two of us, or with friends.

Our walls

We can find my grandfather’s works of art, Albert Verdeke. They are in every room of our home. He had an impressive production so I change them every time we move to a new place.

We also have some photos we bought at Yellow Korner, waiting to be able to buy some of big names like Mario Testino or Irving Penn.

Home fragrances

I use them a lot since we both smoke. I love “Feu de bois” of Dyptique, but also products of La Note Parisienne with its neighborhoods. Nowadays I have the 6th.

On my bookshelf

A lot of books on art, photography, decoration.

And also a lot of novels. I love reading. My last firm-favorite:  « Personne ne m’aurait cru, alors je me suis tu » of Sam Braun. And I just bought « Au bonheur des listes » : a gift for myself.

My ideal moment

When we are all together on our bed with a tea and cakes!

We also have a video projector in our room and even if I wasn’t sure about it now, I must admit it’s not bad!

My dream

Place de Furstenberg apartment with its long windows and a real dressing. But the most important to me is a charming and warm place. My home is my cocoon.
